General Info

Each Girl Scout troop is self supporting and depends upon product sales (nut-candy / cookies) to function. This determines a troop's operating budget for a year. Each troop has it's own product sales manager who works directly with the girls in that troop, the parents and with Creekwood Girl Scout Community Product Sales Manager.
A troop must be registered to participate in product sales and each troop member must be registered as well including the product sales manager for the 2017-2018 scouting year. It is important for the troop's product sales manager to cross check each girls 2017-2018 registration. For a girl who is participating but not registered her order will not be processed by GSWO.
Parents are required to completely fill out and sign the parent permission form for their daughter to participate.
Parents need to understand that they are responsible in helping their daughter with product sales and for each order taken. Unsold items can not be returned to the troop. For example: Cookies are $4.00 a box and you have taken orders for 50 boxes, but customers however will now only take 40 boxes. The total amount due remains at $200.00. The parent is responsible for selling the remaining 10 boxes from their initial order. Each will also sell additional boxes of cookies through individual cookie booths.
Money is due to the troop's product sales manager on a specific date so that she can meet her GSWO deadline. If a girl's money is not returned by the troop's deadline then GSWO will assist with the collection process.
Parents should never deposit product sales money into their own personal bank account and write a check from the account to the troop for money due.
We do feel that all of our girls should participate in at least one product sale, with cookie sales being the most popular and support the GSWO. Each troop keeps $0.50 -$0.75 a box with the remainder going toward GSWO for their operating budget, scholarships and the support and maintenance of our three Girl Scout Camps.
