Scouting skills—what a young person learns to do—are important, but not as important as the primary goal of personal growth achieved through participating in a unit program. The concern is for total, well-rounded development. Age-appropriate surmountable hurdles are placed before members,and as they face these challenges they learn about themselves and gain confidence.
Advancement through Ranks
The Bobcatbadge is earned prior to all other ranks. If a boy joins Cub Scouting as a Wolf, Bear, or Webelos, he must earn the Bobcatbadge first before receiving any other award or rank. For Tiger through Bear ranks, if the activity is completed outside of the den meeting, the parent,adult partner, or another trusted adult should sign in the boy’s handbook and enter the activity into Scout Book, indicating the Cub Scout has done his best to complete the requirement. The den leader then approves that requirement after consultation with the family or the boy to confirm completion. If therequirement is completed in a den meeting, the den leader signs in both places.Den leaders may, however, ask an assistant or parent who helps at meetings to play the role of “Akela” and assist with the approvals. For Webelos and Arrow of Light ranks, the den leader signs for approval of all requirements, unless the den leader delegates this responsibility.
Tigers Scouts
·Must earn their Bobcat before they earn any other award (they can work on and complete other awards but they can't be presented until Bobcat is awarded).
·Must always be accompanied by their Adult Partner.
·Can attend Day Camp (with their Adult Partner).
·Can attend Cub Scout Resident Camp (with their Adult Partner).
·CANNOT use knives, saws, or axes.
·CANNOT cook outdoors.

f.Running with the Pack
2.Complete one Wolf elective adventure of your den or family’s choosing.

Bear Scouts

Webelos Scouts
Webelos Scouts work on one of 20 Webelos Activity Badges "during their weekly den meetings". The Webelos Scout learns the skill,practices it, and brings work to den meetings to show others. The Webelos Den Leader or Activity Badge Counselor, rather than a parent,approves most of the activity badges. Webelos families can sign off requirements as authorized by the Webelos Den Leader. The Fast Tracks provide plans for each den meeting.
Webelos Camping
Webelos Scouts camp as dens, at joint den-troop campouts, and at Webelos Resident Camp:
·Webelos Scout-and-parent overnight den campouts are under the leadership of the Webelos den leader.
·Den-Troop campouts strengthen ties between the pack and a troop.
·WebelosResident Camp is a summer camp tailored for their program.
