Troop 202 Meeting Info

Troop Meetings are held most every Monday at 6:30pm- 8:30PM.

Troop meetings serve to motivate boys, strengthen patrols, promote patrol spirit, learn and practice Scouting skills, organize future activities, and exercise leadership.

Patrol Leaders' Council Meetings

The patrol leaders' council is made up of the senior patrol leader, who presides over the meetings; the assistant senior patrol leader, all patrol leaders, and the troop guide. Patrol Leaders present the ideas and concerns of their patrol and in turn share the decisions of the patrol leaders' council with their patrol members.  The patrol leaders' council plans the yearly troop program at the annual troop program planning conference. It then meets monthly to fine-tune the plans for the upcoming month.

Committee Member Meetings are the Second Wednesday of the month at 6:00 pm.

The troop committee is made up of the committee chair, who presides over the meetings; the secretary, treasurer, advancement chair, equipment coordinator, outdoors/activities chair, membership chair, training chair, and other adult volunteers.  The scoutmaster and ocassionaly the charter organization rep and unit commissioner attend the meetings.  The troop committee's primary responsibilities are supporting the Scoutmaster in delivering a quality troop program and handling troop administration.

Parent Meetings

Parent meetings are held to ensure parents stay up to date on current troop operations, plans and needs.  It is a great opprotunity for parents to talk with the Scoutmaster and Committee Chairperson about the troop.  It is also a great chance to meet other parents of the troop.

Board of Reviews are typically offered as needed.

The board of review is a meeting held individually with Scouts who are up for advancement to ensure they have completed all of the requirements, to determine the quality of their troop experience, and to encourage them to advance toward the next rank.

Courts of Honor are held quarterly in lieu of a Troop Meeting.

The Court of Honor is a formal recognition ceremony with families and friends for Scouts who have moved up in rank or earned merit badges and other awards.
